    ?

i’m new to all this. i dont know how to make threads. and we all know joining another server and preaching Steve’s adventure craft server isn’t a option. but i do have a few ideas. they may be kinda stupid, but i dont really know how server things like this work. so here are my ideas

you could perhaps make a alliance with another server running website thing. then you both could support each other. and people from their servers and websites might see your servers and think “hey this server looks pretty cool”

perhaps on the main page of the website you can put lists of servers that aren’t doing that well. like it says (Steve’s adventure craft server becoming a ghost server. awesome pack in need of players) or something like that.

i will attempted to think of more ideas as my day go’s on.

best regards from Knightbifer. comedian, story teller, and minecraft player :)

    Hellooo!

Some of you may know me as the author of CraftMine v4 - another similar pack that’s also on the UnitedWorldMiners network.

CraftMine has had exclusive optimisations for years that provide unbelievable benefits and a “wow factor” for new players - you open up a pack with over a 100 mods and it runs better than Vanilla with Optifine without you even touching the settings! Before Rapido it was called “CM SPEEDY”.

Well, today I’m proud to announce that - for the first time ever - I have ported a large part of Rapido to Steve’s Adventure Craft.
What does this mean? HUGE performance benefits with slightly BETTER visuals, on the same hardware! Just look at the results for yourself. :)

    Q) What can I do with higher performance on the same PC?

Crank up the settings more Enjoy higher percieved resolution and render distances with the same settings through the use of Rapido’s psychological tricks Have a smoother experience with less choppiness Never complain about client-side (framerate) lag on the pack again! Play longer on laptops as these improvements also improve power efficiency and therefore battery life

    Q) How can I get these improvements?

The new upcoming Steve’s Adventure Craft 1.3.0.0 update includes Rapido built-in and enabled by default. You’ll notice immediate performance improvements as soon as you update. CraftMine v4 contains a more advanced implementation of Rapido called “Rapido+” which also improves visuals as well as further improves performance slightly over the standard Rapido found in the port for SAC. Just be aware that this is a different pack though and is quite different from SAC in some aspects

As there seems to be some confusion about cheating/gamemode/give or moderator powers in general:

Moderators are (from now on) not allowed to use their powers for their own advantage.
They may only use them to help others.

If moderators violate these rules multiple times they will loose their rank.
If anyone notices violation, please report it in the forums or via direct message to avoid revenge.

The reason for this is that we cannot guarantee that cheating by moderators won’t have any effect on other players, therefore we are forbidding it in general.

I hope this will never happen.

    Cheers

    Dear Steve’s Adventure Pack community,

my name is Bent, I am the CTO of Unitedworldminers.

Yesterday we noticed abnormal high disk I/O load on the Linux server on which the Steve’s Adventure Pack server is running. As we always work hard to provide our users with the best possible performance, we tracked down the issue and found out that the Towny plugin on this server led to this issue.

Towny was configured to use the disks of our server for it’s database. This is no issue for small servers, but the community here is really large and the admins might not have configured this while setting up towny.
To remove the high I/O load, we set Towny up to use our database server which worked without any issues (in our testing).

About 16 hours later we got a message that a Town on the server is completely griefed and thought that the issue was our (the Unitedworldminers team’s) fault.

So we started restoring some backups and found that the city has been destroyed for about 10 days already. While we were working on the server we had to restart it multiple times, which led to some inconvenience which we sincerely apologize for.

We reverted the server back to it’s original state before starting our work.

In conclusion we can say that the issue was neither produced by us nor will we put our hands on this again as the server admin @soringaming has to look into the issues you send him here

    Best regards

    the Unitedworldminers team
