@tjwmagic and i really want to thank you guys for your work. I had a FTB server myself and I know how much work it is. Especially with a not learning community.

Could it be that the update of the pack leads to the sevverproblems ?

Um. Josh TJ isn’t a staff he’s just saying stop complaining because its annoying. and also BENT IS LOOKING INTO IT FFS STOP! and yes, it COULD be, josh, but more likely it isn’t since TJ said he had this problem BEFORE the update as well.

          Hey there @tjwmagic ,

thanks for the detailed report. My first guess would be that there might be not enough RAM for the modpack. How much RAM have you set designated to the technic launcher?

          Cheers

@Bent I currently have 8 GB of RAM installed. I usualy run TS and a game recorder while running MC. I haven’t had this problem with standard MC.

I wonder if Stencil buffer might be causing it. I will check that out.

So I turned off Stencil Buffer and changed the RAM amount to 5 GB. Still crashed.

              Thank you,

I was able to play on the Alpha server for about an hour without any Minidump error after restarting my computer and running with 5GB of RAM for Novus. I would have tested longer but I think the server crashed.

                Thank you,

Okay nice, if it works that’s nice. The crash might also indicate faulty hardware (RAM) but that’s only an assumption. Let us know if you have any other issues

The server is up and running so I assume that issue has been fixed.

                  Cheers

Ill bring home my RAM tester from work and check that out. This is a new computer.

                    Thank you,

@tjwmagic Okay then this should for sure not be an issue but you never know :O

You might also try memtest (it’s a live ISO that can be flashed on any USB drive).

If it works now with 5 GB of RAM that’s fine. You could also set -Xmx5G as an additional JVM argument in the Technic Launcher. This limits the JVM’s max memory so that there is a hard upper limit which will fix potential memory overflows.

Just as a side note: I like your professional way of reporting issues, we need more people like you ;)

                      Cheers

I am going to proceed with hardware troubleshooting. I got that minidump again today.

                        Thank you,

@Bent I did confirm that I had a RAM card bad. I replaced all of the RAM and re-ran the MemTest. Still getting this problem. I wonder if this problem is caused by Windows 7. Could be a matter of this Modpack is not supported on Windows 7, or something much deeper.

I can upgrade to Windows 10, I have a copy sitting here at home. Or I could dig deeper. What do you think @Bent?

                              Thank you,

The computer is running a whole lot faster. Only went from 8GB to 16GB of RAM. :)

                                Thank you,
