E5 - Taint? Sorry guys, SickeningTrout’s voice was not recorded. We are working on getting that fixed. I also would have had this video uploaded sooner, however the Rio Olympics kinda got in my way.

I am going to proceed with hardware troubleshooting. I got that minidump again today.

@Bent I never thought I hear that out of you.

I just lock my self in my house. Don’t even leave.

Ill bring home my RAM tester from work and check that out. This is a new computer.

I was able to play on the Alpha server for about an hour without any Minidump error after restarting my computer and running with 5GB of RAM for Novus. I would have tested longer but I think the server crashed.

@Bent Got this error today while on the Alpha server.
java.io.IOException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine

Now I read the alpha server as can’t connect to the server.

So I turned off Stencil Buffer and changed the RAM amount to 5 GB. Still crashed.

@Bent I currently have 8 GB of RAM installed. I usualy run TS and a game recorder while running MC. I haven’t had this problem with standard MC.

I wonder if Stencil buffer might be causing it. I will check that out.

@tmax_hand It has happen when the modpack starts up, when I go into the alpha server, or even a single player world. I did just get this error while running The 1.7.10 Pack. I wonder if maybe it is with Java and not Minecraft.

@EVERYONE ELSE: This is not the place to be complaining about the Novus Bevo Servers. The support forms are for getting help with your game not running, crashing, etc. Please take ALL complaints to the complaint department (Trash Can). Our staff here at United World Miners are doing their best to fix this issue and they are working around the clock. A server of this size is hard to manage so just bare with us.

Description of problem: Failed to write core dump (Minidumps)

Version-Release number of the service / modpack (if applicable): Novus Bevo 1.1.1.4

Server / Modpack where the issue arises (if applicable): Starting Minecraft and/or joining Alpha server. Sometimes out of nowhere in the middle o the game.

Steps to Reproduce issue: Just do anything and hope it happens. Haven’t found a pattern to the crash.

Actual results: Minecraft crashes to launch.

Expected results: Able to play game no problem

Additional info: From stuff I seen online, it says to re-install Java. Update Java, and even go into the bin > Natives and delete the sound files (OpenAL32.dll and OpenAL64.dll). When I delete the sound files Novus works. However, that means you don’t have any block sounds in Minecraft at all. Pretty much, I have gone through 3 pages on a Google search.
I did have this bug on version 1.1.1.2. So I don’t think it is related to the new update. I currently run Windows 7 x64. Don’t want to upgrade to Windows 10. Too many bugs and it is not happening. The weird thing is, sometimes I get this bug and I can’t play at all. Other times, I don’t and I can play for hours on end.

Can’t echo enough of what @Bent said about the OpenModularTurrets. If you do them just right. no one can get pass your defense. You might look at how factions houses are made, so that you got a better idea of how to secure your stuff.

Why do you want to be staff?: To give back to the server. When I first started, I was strugling, now I am doing good thanks to those staff who stoped for 5 min and helped me out. I want to be able to do that. I also want to promote the English speakers on the server.
What would you bring to the table as a staff member?: Experience in administration and moderation. For about 5 months, I served as Jr. Moderator for Nordic Empire Gaming. For just over a year, I served as IT Administrator working on Workstations, Servers, and Networking. I got experience working on MC servers and ensuring they never go down.
Have you ever worked on another server?: Nordic Empires Gaming (The 1.7.10 Pack).
If you have worked on another server, what position was it?: Jr. Moderator
A player is acting up on the server, and being rude to you, how would you handle this situation? I would quickly find a way to take control of the situation and talk to the player who is having problems. Preferably in a private chat room. I would find out why the player was having problems, and if another player was involved I would talk to him also. I would quickly find a way that we can fix the problem, on both sides (if another player was involved or not). If the problem does include activities against Novus Bevo’s rules, I would also look at what the penalties might be. If the player starts to talk suicidal thoughts, I would immediately grab another staff member, and start talking the player out of this. Meanwhile, this whole conversation and chain of events would be recorded, and ensure that the Child Online Protection Act (COPA) is being followed. When everything is done, calmed down, and safe, I would post the report accordingly to Novus Bevo’s moderation guidelines.

Right now it is SickeningTrout and I. We might be looking at adding another member sometime in later down the road.

A lot of servers I have been on does not have any type of Beginners Guide. I love how when I first started playing Novus a few weeks ago, I was directed to go here, and everything I needed was in one spot. Thank you!
